The Kana Match card game is the fun and easy way to learn the Japanese Hiragana and Katakana (two sets of Japanese characters that are known together as the "Kana") and their corresponding English equivalents, known in Japanese as Romaji.

Learning the Kana (Hiragana and Katakana) is essential to being able to read and write Japanese and is one of the first skills that a student of Japanese must master.

Hiragana - Hiragana is used for native Japanese words.
Katakana - Katakana is used for non-native Japanese words.

Anyone who can read English can play the game  - NO PRIOR EXPERIENCE with either Hiragana or Katakana is necessary to play and learn!
